Marketing Coordinator

Job Summary

In its first 10 years, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has grown to become a $3M + organization and is preparing for significant organizational growth and development with the recent approval of a strategic plan.Cookies for Kids’ Cancer seeks a Marketing Coordinator that will support the organization’s exponential growth plans.

Founded in 2008, the organization has supported over 8, 500 grassroots events to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and inspired tens of thousands of individual supporters to join the “good cookie” movement.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the organization’s marketing, social media, and public relations activities, as well as the execution of the strategic marketing and social media plan.The Marketing Coordinator also supports internal teams at the strategic and tactical levels.

A positive, can-do attitude, and the ability to multi-task and liaise proactively with staff, is essential to the success of this position.The ideal candidate for this job is creative and can operate effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is a new position within the organization.

Key Relationships

The Marketing Coordinator reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has working relationships with the Founder, Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, Strategic Marketing Consultant, Cookies Sales Lead, Grassroots Events Lead, and website and graphic design service providers. Outside the organization, the position coordinates, primarily, with the media.


  • Oversee day-to-day marketing and communications activities including budgeting and planning.
  • Produce content for our key audiences via website, social media, social media ads, email marketing, and blog channels.
  • Implement a new strategic marketing and social media plan.
  • Write and edit copy for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer marketing and packaging materials.
  • Coordinate design and production of all marketing materials and messaging for key programs and events.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing and social media data and create a monthly data and insights report pulled from Google Analytics and social media insights, as a way to improve messaging and outreach.
  • Support refresh of CFKC website, maintain website, and work with website developer and designer to update design and content needs, as needed.
  • Leveraging the Founder’s thought leadership, assist her participation in speaking events and conferences, and prepare talking points, and other supporting materials, as needed.
  • Coordinate design and production of all materials to support fundraising efforts such as sponsorship decks, corporate and grassroots fundraising products, and outreach materials.
  • Assist with general event preparation, including branded event materials, and ordering supplies.
  • Monitor and report trends in marketing, competitor, and channel content. o Ensure the consistency of brand messaging internally and externally.

Social Media

  • Create and manage social media editorial calendar.
  • Develop channel-specific, timely content, and campaigns.
  • Actively monitor and engage with our community on social media to drive engagement, enthusiasm, support, and awareness of CFKC.
  • Create livestreamed social media events, as needed.
  • Pitch creative concepts for organization-wide social media initiatives, influencer outreach, and campaigns -- both livestreamed and video.
  • Stay on top of emerging social media trends and other social channels; analyze and report opportunities for growth.


  • 3 - 4 years’ experience in a communications, marketing and/or social media management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable.

Candidate Profile

  • A creative, self-starter with a strong desire to learn and experiment with different ways of doing things.
  • Very strong social media background and experience with managing an organization’s Instagram and Facebook Lives and Stories, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Organized, flexible, detail-oriented team player.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong user abilities in graphic design and email marketing software/platforms, experience in using design platforms such as Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
  • Some event planning experience preferred but not required.
  • High level of proficiency using all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess current and valid U.S. Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship.

Salary range: $42,000 - $48,000

Founded in 2008, the mission of Cookies for Kids' Cancer is to raise funds for research to develop new, improved, and less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer, the number one disease killer of children in the United States. We provide inspiration and support for individuals, businesses, and organizations to raise funds through grassroots and other events. Over the past 10 years, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has granted nearly $15 million (and counting), to childhood cancer research, funding 100 research grants, resulting in more than 40 new treatments now in clinical trial and available to children today.

Revenues: $3 million currently, projected to grow to $5M by 2021.
