In its first 10 years, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has developed into a $4M+ organization with plans to keep growing. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer seeks an experienced Development Director to lead efforts that will support the organization’s expansion. The primary responsibility for this position will be to build out opportunities for Corporate Giving and Individual Major Gifts.

The Development Director will manage two staff members who focus on grassroots fundraising. The Director will collaborate closely with the Special Events Director to maximize event partnerships and fundraising opportunities. In addition, s/he will consult with the Cookie Sales Manager to help identify new corporate gifting/cookie sales opportunities.

To be successful in this position, the Director needs to be skilled at working leads that have been cultivated by the Founder and Board Members. The Director will be responsible for working with volunteer leadership to secure commitments from new contacts. The perfect fit would be someone who loves to network, enjoys making things happen, and revels in the ability to identify opportunities and steer them to successful, quantifiable results.

Public Relations Intern

Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a national 501(c)3 non-profit, is committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved & less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer, the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. The organization raises money in a variety of ways including traditional grassroots events and peer-to-peer fundraising, corporate partnerships, gala events, and cookie sales that direct 100% of the profits to funding research.

The Public Relations Intern will play an integral role in creating a PR plan to complement the marketing strategy with a focus on media relations including creating press materials, developing local and national media lists, pitching media, curating a collection of key images for media to use, and working with the founder to identify other media coverage opportunities.
