Paul Grand (American, b. 1961) is a photographer based in New York City since the mid-1980s. In 1993 he founded Noho Productions in Greenwich Village, a 20,000 square foot photographic rental studio facility for still life photographers. His own personal practice is also sited within the still life tradition. Paul has chosen to focus on banal objects from the 20th and 21st century, placing them in a new modern context. His photographs are not centered on the objects themselves (a scrap piece of wood, dead plant, old metal block, etc.) but rather how the objects relate to each other in the photograph or in some cases the solitude of one object itself.
