Alison worked as a prop stylist in New York City for over 18 years. Eventually she was drawn back to the countryside of NJ and began a full time painting career. The graphic elements of nature combine in her paintings with images from her own photography and from what she sees in her surroundings. Recently her process has included an awareness of her own movements and laying those in marks across a piece. This has pushed her to make paintings that are larger than she is. She interprets the movement of light and patterns in nature, images unaltered by the human hand. Her work contains elements of the unfinished and abstract.
