Hello! Welcome to my 5th #KatesBakes Cookies for Kids' Cancerfundraiser! From its humble beginnings 18 years ago, this operation has grown to become a mass cookie production line in my dining room by the end of December each year. I even baked and shipped to people I didn't actually know last year - thanks to Facebook and word of mouth. I'm glad so many people enjoy the cookies - and especially the caramels - and we all help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

CookiesForKidsCancer.org is a registered 501(c) charity that raises money to fund research grants leading to clinical trials and less toxic, more effective treatments for children fighting cancer. Pediatric cancer research is a tragically underfunded cause with only 4% percent of the National Cancer Institute's annual budget apportioned to such funding. So the countless hours I spend mixing, frosting, rolling, decorating, and packaging well over a thousand cookies and candies are about more than just putting a smile on someone's face and feeding someone's sweet tooth. I know that with every donation I collect and every box I ship, a medical team gets one step closer to finding a cure for pediatric cancer and healing a sick child. Recipients can maybe feel less guilty about the ooey gooey yumminess they're about to indulge in, knowing they helped some very sick children get the treatments they deserve!

This year I set my fundraiser goal at $3,000 and yes, it's ambitious once again. But I'm relying on generous friends & family and eager new customers to step up on #GivingTuesday when Facebook is matching charitable donations up to $7 million! If you can't donate on Tuesday Nov 27, no worries - OXO kitchenware brand is also matching donations to Cookies for Kids' Cancer all through the month of December. So I'm confident we can reach the $3,000 goal and bring my grand total well over $10,000 through the past 5 years! That will be something to celebrate!

So just like in the past, I will box up an assortment of cookies - and yes caramels too - and ship or deliver them to you for any donation. You choose a donation amount that works for you. Every little bit helps! Cookies will be randomly assorted, but if allergies are an issue let me know and I can separate them specifically - include in the message if that's an issue.

Based on what I learned in the last few years, please read the fine print:

  1. If you want your boxes shipped, please SEPARATELY PAY ME $13 PER BOX.I ship via USPS, and unfortunately that's the flat rate medium box cost this year. You can pay the shipping cost via cash, check, venmo (@kitkates213), PayPal (use this link for easy-peasy payment: paypal.me/kitkates/13).

  2. Orders are due by Saturday Dec 15 so they can arrive or be personally delivered by Christmas. Cookies will be delivered Dec 20-21-22. If you will not be home those dates, please let me know so I can arrange a better delivery date.

  3. Please adhere to a 2-BOX MAXIMUM per household.I'm absolutely soo flattered by all the requests (and the many attempts to find a loophole in this rule) but in order to keep my sanity and send as many cookies as possible, I need to keep orders at a reasonable level, ya dig?

So let's eat some cookies and kick cancer's butt at the same time!

Happy holidays and ho ho ho!
