Hello Friends and Family,
I registered a fundraiser with Cookies for Kids' Cancer because I want to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer. My good friend and neighbor, Amy Christenbury, spent years in this fight for her son, Grier. Sadly, Grier passed away on November 27, 2013. He was 9 1/2 years old.
Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved. Amy had the first CFKC Bake Sale in front of her home ten years ago. Since then she has organized and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for pediatric cancer research. She is an inspiration to so many of us. Over the years we have helped in different ways - teachers and I have held bake sales of our own, our son Reid trick or treated for donations instead of candy, we’ve baked and bought goods and we give money to CKFC because we know that it was going to a great cause.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts. You can make an on-line donation with your credit card by clicking on the "donate" button on this page.
Together we can make a difference for kids' battling cancer. Thank you for your support!

PS: Every year I make my aunt’s toffee for the bake sale and as Christmas gifts for friends and family. This year I am only making it for the bake sale so if you like it please stop by Blackhawk Hardware on December 9 to pick up a bag! The top donations will receive some yummy toffee - I will deliver it to your house or mail it to anyone out of town. Please give generously for this life-saving cause!
