Mira is a toddler who loves music, painting and being the doctor for her dolls (and family). She was 22 months old when she was first diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May 2015. She went through four rounds of chemotherapy which were very hard on her little body. She spent the better part of five months in the hospital with a week in the PICU. In October, she finished treatment and had a relatively normal life in remission for four months. Relapsing in February of 2016, a bone marrow transplant was recommended. She had another 2 rounds of chemo and a transplant in May 2016. She is still in isolation for a few more months but is recovering well and has most of her energy (and mischief) back.
