In March of 2009, our world was turned upside down when our daughter, Lucy Rose, was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma at age 3. Over the past four years we have seen the dire need for better treatments for children with cancer. This need is not only for their survival, but for their quality of life after the toxic treatments they are exposed to.

After discovering the lack of federal funding for pediatric cancer research, our family started a local organization, Lucy's Light, to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. We looked into different organizations to support and were drawn to Cookies for Kids Cancer because they represent all children with all different types of cancer. We love that they are so diligent with every dollar raised and have amazing doctors on board.

CFKC has been with us every step of the way for our first fundraiser, The 1st Annual Lucy's Light Dodge Ball tournament, in which we raised over $11,400! Our community came together to make this a success and we hope that every year we continue to have this amazing response.

We feel honored to be named a Good Cookie Ambassador and to be involved with an amazing organization that is making a difference for the kids out there fighting cancer. We feel that by joining with Cookies we can make a bigger impact. We need to band together for our children. Their futures depend on it.
