Pan Am Equities Sweetly Suggests: Be A Good Cookie

- NYC Developer & Residential Manager Teams with Cookies for Kids' Cancer to Launch Matching Gift Drive to Support Childhood Cancer Research -

NEW YORK, NY - Pan Am Equities, a preeminent Manhattan developer and manager of residential properties, has announced its Be A Good Cookie campaign benefiting Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a national 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for research into less toxic, more effective treatments for childhood cancer, the leading disease killing children in the United States.

To kick off its drive to support the more than 40,000 children battling cancer every day in the U.S., Pan Am has pledged $45,000 to Cookies for Kids' Cancer and is challenging its residents, employees and any donor from the public or NYC real estate community to donate too - and Pan Am will match donations made on the dedicated Pan Am Cares page, up to an additional $30,000, which if met would bring the total event donation to $100,000.

"Childhood should be about learning about the world, growing in body and spirit, having fun running around and playing games, not undergoing painful treatments and spending days and nights in medical facilities. With greater funding for pediatric cancer, I hope in the future that fewer children and families have to suffer through this terrible disease at all, and that every child becomes a survivor," said Scott Solomon, Pan Am Equities' President and CEO.

After chancing upon Cookies for Kids' Cancer a few years back, Solomon quickly became enamored of the organization: its mission to fight and raise awareness for pediatric cancer; the concept of giving donors cookies like those adored by Liam Witt, who lost his battle with Stage IV cancer at the age of 6 and inspired his parents to found the non-profit; and the easy ways individuals, groups and companies can partner with the Cookies for Kids' Cancer cause. After Hurricane Sandy left so many NYC-area residents distraught and without heat, electricity and running water, Pan Am first donated to the non-profit and sent its residents a sweet "boost-us-up" after the storm, appreciation treat.

Now, with 2014's September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Pan Am Equities is having Cookies for Kids' Cancer fire up many more ovens: Pan Am has pledged $45,000 to the organization, resulting in Pan Am Resident Appreciation cookies being delivered across Manhattan and Westchester to Pan Am's rental units. The cookies will be delivered from September 9-12th.

Pan Am residents will be invited to make their own donation to the cause through a dedicated link. Pan Am has pledged to match, dollar for dollar up to $30,000, of Pan Am resident and employee donations through December 31, 2014.
