Hello Friends and Family,
I joined the Charlotte Good Cookies Blackhawk Bake Sale fundraiser with Cookies for Kids' Cancer because I want to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer.
This Saturday is the 10th Annual Cookies For Kids' Cancer Bake Sale in Charlotte. Jack, Andrew and I will be volunteering once again. We went to our first bake sale 7 years ago. We had only been in Charlotte for a few weeks, Andrew was a newborn and Jack was 2. Our fabulous pre-school teacher sent an email to families to let us know about the bake sale, as it was started by a mom whose son, Grier, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma while he was a student in her class. Grier was 2 when he started his battle, the same age Jack was when I learned about Cookies For Kids' Cancer. Grier was a warrior, but lost his battle when he was nine. The same age Jack is now.
These battles, whether they are 7 years or 8 months, need to never happen. Kids need to be kids and have a chance to grow up.
Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts. You can make an on-line donation with your credit card by clicking on the "donate" button on this page.
Together we can make a difference for kids' battling cancer. Thank you for your support!
