PGHS Cookies for Kids Cancer

Hello Friends and Family,

My name is Alyssa Stadler.  I am a sophomore at Prince George High School enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.  As a part of my IB personal project, I registered a fundraiser with Cookies for Kids' Cancer because I want to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved.  At the age of 7 my dear friend Abbie Waters was diagnosed with stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma Ebryonal, a big word for childhood cancer.  Abbie fought bravely for over a year and a half, and passed gracefully on April 22, 2011, two days after her 9th birthday.  While Abbie lost this battle, we can continue to fight against childhood cancer.  The attached video shares experiences from Abbie's mom and other parents, and explains why Cookies for Kids Cancer is such an important organization.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts. You can make an on-line donation with your credit card by clicking on the "donate" button on this page.  You can also support  Cookie fundraising efforts at PGHS home football games during the month of October.

Together we can make a difference for kids' battling cancer. Thank you for your support!
